Vigil for the Trees

Join us for a thought-provoking and peaceful vigil as we lament the destruction of nature wrought by our modern lives. We will have speakers and prayers from a range of faiths and none, giving perspectives on humankind’s relationship to nature and what we lose when we destroy it.

Our thoughts will be focused on the potential loss of hundreds of trees around Markeaton Park, Kingsway and Little Eaton for the expansion of the A38 junctions around Derby.

Due to the pandemic we have decided to hold this as a ‘virtual’ vigil but hope to make it meaningful with poetry, images and music and the lighting of candles (light your own candle during the vigil).

We look forward to sharing with you some moments of peace, prayer and solidarity with our natural world.

Register in advance for this meeting >>> here <<< (note that XR Derby have lent us their paid Zoom account to run this - the event is not organised or run by XR).

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
